5.0 out of 5 stars Cotton Candy Quilts, August 23, 2001
    By
This review is from: Cotton Candy Quilts: Using Feedsacks, Vintage and Reproduction Fabrics (Paperback)
I have really enjoyed reading this book. I found it very informative and enjoyable and plan to use several of the patterns. I have purchased an additional copy to be part of a table decoration that I am making for the annual fall meeting of the Utah Quilt Guild. I've purchased about 15 books in the last 6 months and have enjoyed this one the most. I think it will sell very well. Our Guild has over 1000 members, and hopefully the book will get exposure at the meeting from vendors that are there. One problem I had was that I would have liked to have the Indian hatchet pattern printed in the book and it was not. If anyone knows where I could get a copy of it I would appreciate them letting me know.

I really love this book. I keep going back to it again and again, just to enjoy the colorful quilts! There is much to inspire here, and don't think that it is geared only towards the 30's reproduction fabrics. You can use the quilts featured in this book as inspiration for using any fabrics you may have in your stash. And Mary's no-fuss approach to machine quilting will help you finish all those un-quilted tops you may have. A must-have for any passionate quilter!

4.0 out of 5 stars Cool look., May 6, 2011

Very plush. The leather will get a little warm (as most leather cans will do to you) but they are very comfortable. The adjustable band is a bit jerky, I haven't broke them in properly yet. But if you are buying these, it is for the look. They are not monsterous, but do stick out in a muted, flashy way. The sound is good for what you are paying for. If you have a young person into music, this is a good introduction to the over-the-ear headphone world.

3.0 out of 5 stars Looks great, sound meh, June 10, 2011
This review is from: iHip MVF10264RT Marvel Retro Extreme DJ Headphone, Red/Black (Electronics)
I found these for like half price and I love Marvel so I got them. I love the look of them, that is the biggest reason I got them. However I have been a little disappointed with the sound quality. I wasn't expecting awesome sound but I was expecting a little better than this. But they are definitely better than ear buds. I also don't think they are super comfortable, but again they are better than ear buds. The in cord volume control is a nice feature and I really like the swivel in the ear cups. Overall I like them, but I would like something better. They definitely don't compare to the sound quality or comfort of other headphones of this style by Skull Candy or other companies but they are a significant improvement over ear buds and they look great.

These headphones are pretty cool. They are not nearly as bulky as I thought they might be. I bought them for my 8 1/2 year old and they fit him perfectly; his head is neither large nor small. I did not wear them for a long period of time, just a short test before he ran off with them.

As far as the sound, it's not the clearest, a little muddy. Not muddy to the point of plain ole distortion or discomfort but anyone who likes music or is an audiophile may complain. The bass is good, I think it's the voices that are a little muddy more than anything else but I was able to hear everything with no strain. Just wanted to give a good description for anyone who's considering buying.

The big plus is that it does have in-line volume control and a splitter. Those are two perks that I may have missed in the product description but was pleasantly surprised to find.

The cord is a little thin but I like that because I hate the bulky plugs, I just hope it doesn't wear... Read more

4.0 out of 5 stars You don't need to buy the AC adaptor, February 14, 2011

Don't be "tricked" into buying the AC adaptor since it shows you an upsell message saying the two items are purchased together - the item comes with one. Regarding the item itself: Keep in mind this is a novelty item. It's not meant to be a fancy vending machine. There is also a pretty annoying design flaw. The way this thing dispenses is by dropping sodas from the various shelves where the corresponding buttons are. Sodas in the higher shelves have a higher drop and thus get shaken up a bit which isn't fun when opening up the can for consumption.

I bought this for my husband for his birthday to keep in his "man cave." He loves it! He has an ice-cold soda at his fingertips whenever he wants it. Plus it's a fun addition to his room.

This product is so neat. We were finishing our basement with a whole retro theme, and purchased it to sit on the bar as more of an ornamental item. When I opened it up and put drinks into it, I realized how well it worked, so now we're using it as it was meant to. Everyone who comes to visit remarks about how neat it is!
