I really wouldn't put this into the "toy" category...it isn't a toy. This is a full-blown, replica gumball machine that you might expect to find walking through Wall Drug in South Dakota. What fun...The paint is bright, the legs are sturdy, the glass globe (many are plastic) just screams "quality!" I have this in my training room here at work and it really makes people smile to walk in and have a treat out of this machine. So much more engaging than a basket of candy sitting on a table. I filled it with Reeses Pieces and set it to dispense without having to add a coin.I love how I can adjust the amount of candy that gets dispensed. I love the clear cover over the dispensing chute to keep the candies from shooting out onto the floor. I think I am going to try skittles or jelly bellies next time around! I am a photographer specializing in retro pinup photos, so when I went hunting for a gumball machine I knew that it was going to have to be authentic or be a very good reproduction. I had a hard time finding reasonably priced vintage models in good condition, so I was pretty excited when I saw this one on Amazon at such a great price. I read the reviews and decided it would be a great prop for the studio (I had been looking for something about a foot taller but those don't seem to exist).I have to say that I am very pleased with the quality and look of this product. The glass is pretty sturdy, though you have to be careful with it like you would any glass item. The stand screws together securely and is perfectly level with no rocking or weakness. The piece is heavy and well crafted, which was a concern. Cheap knock-offs can be very obvious in photos!
